Elgin House is a short drive (5 minutes) or a small taxi ride (under $10) to the central city and major institutions such as the Otago University, Polytechnic, Medical School or Dental School.  As such it is an ideal place to stay for graduations or other related activities.

Additionally, Elgin House is only 15 minutes walk from Carisbrook, the home of Otago Rugby.
